Teach a Tree Hike Coming Up at Wayne National Forest

Posted on: 02/08/2016
By  Jordan Shaw

(Marietta, OH) – On February 20th from 1-4pm Wayne National Forest will be having an open Teach a Tree winter hike in Morgan County.

Winter identification can be tricky, but fun as well. Local Americorps members will help hikers build their skills for identifying trees in our area. Fact sheets for several tree species will be available.

You'll also learn helpful hints for identifying many plant species.

There will be opportunities for anyone willing to volunteer and teach the group themselves.

This is an excellent opportunity to get outdoors and experience the Wayne National Forest with family and friends. Feel free to come for a portion of the hike, or the whole duration. Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather.

If you have any questions about the hike you can call (740) 753-0101 and ask for Matt Castells.
