This Friday, Marietta High School Band Member Blake Carle will be having a spaghetti dinner at the First Unitarian Church of Marietta. The dinner begins at 5pm and proceeds will go toward Carle's contract to march and travel with Legends Drum and Bugle Corps.
Blake Carle is a Senior at The Washington County Career Center and studies in the Sports Medicine and Exercise Science Program. Carle has been in the band program with Marietta City Schools for 7 years.
The Drum Corps is a very highly competitive marching band that travels over 10,000 miles through 11 states during the summer months. Carle says on his GoFund Me Page that he knew he would achieve this impossible goal at some point. He went on to say that band was his savior and he knew that if he continued the hard work, his goals would be achieved.
Tickets for the spaghetti dinner are $10 for adults and $5 for children 5-12. Children ages 5 and under are free.
First Unitarian Church of Marietta is located at 232 Third Street.
