Ohioans aged 16-39 are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. The newest and possibly final upgrade to the age range began Monday.  Those who are under 18 years old have some considerations to keep in mind though.

Those who are 16 and 17 years old must receive the Pfizer vaccine and they must have a parent's consent.  Keep in mind, none of the vaccines that have been released are approved for anyone under the age of 16.  The Ohio Department of Health's "Get the Shot" portal is available which outlines vaccination sites and schedules appointments.

Health officials say, if you are having trouble with the portal… to keep trying until you get the appointment.

One million thirteen thousand Ohioans have been diagnosed with the virus. 4,963 of those were found here in Washington County.

As for vaccinations, 28.03% or 3.3 million Ohioans have been vaccinated. 26% or 15,600 Washington County residents have been vaccinated.
