Painting and rehab project scheduled for East Norwood Reservoir
Posted on: 04/13/2021
MARIETTA, Ohio- The Marietta Water Department announced Monday that a rehabilitation and painting project on the 2-million-gallon East Norwood Reservoir will start this month.
The project is normal preventative maintenance that is required periodically, according to Water Superintendent Jeff Kephart, It helps to ensure the water tank is working properly and that maintenance costs are kept low.
The project will put the tank out of service for 60 days. Marietta water customers located along State Route 7 from the I-77 interchange to the end of service near the Highway Patrol Office and customers in the Reno Water District are in the service area of the tank.
Water service will be maintained to all customers while the tank is out of service. Kephart added that the East Norwood Booster Station will pump water continuously to provide adequate pressures to the pressure zone while the tank is out of service. No disruptions are expected unless a mechanical failure comes up or a major power outage to the booster stations happens.
The project officially starts on April 20 and is expected to be completed by June 19.
