Memorial Day comes up on the final day of the month and AAA is predicting increases on all methods of travel.
Last year due to the pandemic, AAA saw record lows in travel. More than 37 million are expected to be on the roads, airways, tracks and waterways this Memorial Day.
Automobile travel is expected to increase by 52%, bus train and ship travel saw the lowest increase at 27% and air travel is expecting a bump of a staggering 564.6%.
Other predictions say that the longest travel delays before the holiday will be during the afternoons on May 27th and May 28th. Double travel times are expected in major cities. Big time major cities like Atlanta, Houston and New York could see triple time.
AAA provides their predictions and also provides recommendations when preparing your travel. Inspect the car, make sure your tires are in good shape, your battery is charged, and your wipers are ready for any amount of rain.
