The Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Lottery Commission will require residents to opt in for the state's "Vax-a-Million" drawing.

Gov. Mike DeWine had previously said Ohioans 18 and older would be automatically entered, however; Ohio health director Stephanie McCloud announced today that residents will have to sign up for a chance to win.

Starting Tuesday, May 18, you can register HERE for the drawing. Those without internet access can enter by calling 1-833-4-ASK-ODH.

For the $1 million drawing, Ohio residents 18 years or older who have received at least one shot of either Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson are eligible.

For the scholarship drawing, Ohio residents between the ages of 12 and 17 who have received at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine are eligible.

Winners will be chosen each Wednesday, beginning May 26, at 7:29 p.m. The drawings will take place weekly from May 26 through June 23.

In total, five Ohioans over the age of 18 will be randomly selected to receive $1 million each and five Ohioans between 12 and 17 years old will each receive a full scholarship to an Ohio University; including tuition, books and room & board.
