Women's Giving Circle awards $8,000 to Eve, Incorporated
Members submitted proposals for nonprofit organizations that they felt embodied the circle's mission. As the meeting came to a close the ballots were counted and the winner of an eight-thousand-dollar women's circle grant went to Eve, Incorporated, an organization that seeks to prevent family violence and sexual assault through education and intervention.
CEO of the Marietta Community Foundation Heather Allendar advised the money can be used for any program that Eve, Inc. sees fit.
"The way that the giving circle gives their money is based on which non-profit a member feels passionate about," Allendar stated. "It does not have to be for a particular project, it just has to serve women and children in Washington County."
The Women's Giving Circle will host another event this fall following a similar format. Any woman interested in local philanthropy can join.
