Conceal Carry Ohio
The new law signed yesterday will make a concealed weapons permit optional for anyone legally allowed to carry a gun and eliminate the requirement that individuals promptly notify the police that they are carrying a concealed weapon.
Gun owners may still apply for their permit under the legislation. This will allow those who obtain it to carry a concealed weapon in states that require permits.
During encounters with police, the bill requires only those individuals confirm they are carrying a weapon if asked by an officer.
Opposing parties say the Governor is caving to special interest groups and extremists, adding that the new bill will make Ohioans less safe.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed a bill removing concealed gun training and permits.
